Employment Opportunities
During our season we hire "Workampers"-
people who help run the campground in exchange for a full-hook-up site
and salary. Santa Fe and Rancheros Campground are great places

News. We
are proud to have employees returning for as many as seven seasons with
us. Located at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe is the heart of Southwest art and
culture. There is so much to do here (see helpful links above), and we
have a wonderful dry climate.
We
hire to fill the following positions:
1.Couples
who will work the registration desk and do outdoor duties and
maintenance. We will also consider a single person who will work the
registration desk only. Compensation includes salary of
$1,200/month/couple, end-of-commitment bonus, full hook-up site plus
free laundry, propane at our cost, and a 25% discount on store items.
We also provide free high-speed wireless internet access. Phone
hook-ups are available at the site. Cell phone reception is excellent. You will work 30-32 hours per week per person. Couples will work their shifts together. There
will be two consecutive days off, but not necessarily on weekends.
Please note that this is not a management position.
We
need team players. Our campground caters to the tourist market, so
customer turnover is high. Being able to deal with all types of people
in a pleasant manner, and familiarity with area attractions is
essential. Experience handling money, working a cash register, and
personal computer is helpful when working the registration desk.
Regarding
the outdoor portion of the position, we are always adding improvements
or doing maintenance to our facility, so some handyman skills are
helpful. The everyday outdoor routine includes checking sites for late
arrivals and timely checkout, maintaining the pool (summer months),
stocking the store with ice and firewood, cleaning, ensuring campsites
and firepits are tidy, and starting the evening movie. As needed and
time permitting, other tasks include basic electrical and plumbing
repairs, landscaping, painting, repairing picnic tables, operating a
weed-eater, and running drip irrigation systems

The second position is for a single person or couple who will do
cleaning-only. The position requires 2 to 3 hours per day, six days a
week beginning at 11 a.m.. Duties are cleaning restrooms and showers,
rec. room, and camping cabins. Benefits are same as the above position.
This position is ideal for someone who doesn't mind doing cleaning work
and would like more free time available. Keep in mind however, that
maintaining clean facilities is a very important part of our business
and we expect quality work.
Finally,
it's important our employees come with realistic expectations. You must
be in good health, since we live at 7200 feet above sea level. People
with heart ailments or asthma might have trouble adjusting to the
climate. We get busy and stay busy from May through mid-October, so
don't anticipate a lot of idle time during your shift.
